Catherine Holt, Principal

Catherine Holt is a leader and innovator.

She has an enduring interest in public policy and the improvement and transformation of public services including improvements to the way they are organized, how services are designed and delivered, how public entities are governed and funded and how to manage strategically to achieve intended goals.

She has also advised many companies and agencies in the private, public and not-for-profit sectors on how to successfully do business with the provincial government.

Catherine is directly involved in providing strategic and management services to her wide range of private, not-for-profit and public sector clients in British Columbia and Alberta.

She has also provided advice on public sector governance and organizational design for governments in South Africa and the Middle East.

She has a proven history of managing difficult issues from start to finish by analyzing the problem, designing a potential solution, and implementing a new model.

Catherine has held executive level positions in the British Columbia and the Yukon governments. As part of the BC Premier's Office she was Assistant Cabinet Secretary and the province's senior representative for Intergovernmental Relations, responsible for strategic management of a broad range of international and national issues. She was Assistant Deputy Minister and senior advisor in the Ministries of Health, Aboriginal Affairs and Women's Equality. She has also been a Treasury Board Analyst and Legislative Intern. In the Yukon she served as Cabinet Communication Advisor to the Territorial Government. Prior to her public sector work, Catherine was a producer for several CBC Radio and Television current affairs programs, including As it Happens, Morningside, Midday and Yukon Morning.

Catherine has an MA from the University of Western Ontario and a BA (Honours) from the University of British Columbia.

She has served as Chair of the Finance Committee for the Victoria City Police Board, Founding President and Chair of the Vancouver Island School of Art and a board member of the BC Gaming Commission.

She has been an expert adviser and guest lecturer for MBA students pursuing the management consulting specialization at Royal Roads University.

She has a Certificate of Visual Arts from the Vancouver Island School of Art.
